IMI's 7th International Conference | Act Now: Understanding, Preventing & Treating NCDs

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) represent a public health emergency in slow motion. This epidemic causes 36 million deaths globally each year. Most of these deaths could have been prevented.

To address this growing epidemic, IMI’s 7th International Conference will focus on the theme of understanding, preventing and treating non-communicable diseases and will feature academic seminars to tackle this specific threat to millions globally. The crafting of this conference’s agenda has taken into account specific goals enumerated by the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Action Plan for NCDs, allowing for various levels of sessions on understanding, preventing and treating NCDs. Given that developing countries are hit hardest, some lectures will also be geared towards providing information to our international colleagues from these regions to provide for capacity building. Sessions for general audiences will also be incorporated so as to allow all members, regardless of professional specialization, to understand the risks and address modifiable behaviors that lead to many of these NCDs. Finally, as always, networking events have been planned, including a Networking Cruise & Dinner in the Caribbean. For details, please visit the conference website: Click Here

Join us this August in Barbados and act now to understand, prevent & treat NCDs.
